I've Got a Bad Polka Face

About a year ago, I bought this polka dot fabric from my favorite fabric store for about $5. And zippers sell for 10-cents a piece! So, if my number crunching skills serve me correctly, this shirt cost me $2.60 (half of the fabric is still left).

Anyway.... I had my mind all set on using a pattern since this piece would be made from scratch.

I unfolded my pattern and then stared at all the pieces. I even went as far as to cut some of the pieces out, when it hit me: "I need to go wash dishes."  That's how afraid I was of this pattern. I neatly folded it back up, put it away and went on with my day.

That was a week ago. Sunday morning, I was feeling the carpe diem and said, "I'm not afraid of you"...to the fabric. I didn't even look for the pattern. (Yes, I'm pretty pathetic.)

I cut and cut and sewed and sewed until the shirt fit and then added the details. It's like I was slowly chipping away at a piece of art.

...This is far from art, but it fits and I like it. Take that!, You Sew n' Easy pattern.
